The all-new 2011 Acura RDX
Acura announced today the launch of the 2011 Acura RDX, which comes with a turbocharged powertrain and the availability of the brand’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive. With two models available in two trim choices, the 2011 RDX comes however with standard two-wheel-drive drivetrain.
The 2.3L I-4 engine is capable of developing 240 horsepower at 6,000 rpm with 260 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 rpm, while delivering a combined fuel economy of 21 mpg (RDX 2WD) and 19 mpg (RDX SH-AWD). A Sequential SportShift 5-speed automatic transmission is standard on the RDX, as is the electronically-controlled Drive-by-Wire throttle system. 
Exterior styling highlights include HID front headlights, 18-inch 10-spoke aluminum wheels, rectangular exhaust finishers and satin body trim.
On the other hand, the interior of the 2011 RDX comes with the Technology Package, which includes:
- AcuraLink Satellite Communication System;
- AcuraLink Real-Time Traffic;
- AcuraLink Real-Time Weather;
- Acura/ELS Surround 410-watt Premium Audio System;
- GPS-linked;
- Automatic climate control system.
Safety wise, the vehicle comes with dual-stage, multiple-threshold airbags for the driver and front passenger, side airbags for the driver and front passenger, along with side curtain airbags for all occupants.
The front passenger's side airbag features an Occupant Position Detection System to prevent airbag deployment if a child or small-stature adult leans into the deployment path. LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) child seat mounting systems allow the quick and convenient installation of child seats in the rear seats.
